Bakery Operative

We are recruiting Bakery Operatives for a food manufacturing business in Leicester. Along with an hourly rate of £12.50 and overtime paying £18.75 per hour, you will also receive a fantastic range of benefits including 20 days of holiday plus bank holidays a pension scheme, and access to free onsite parking.

Pay Rate: £12.50 Basic Hours & £18.75 for all hours over 40

Working Days/Hours: Sunday to Thursday, 07:00-17:00 (1 hour break - unpaid)

As a Bakery Operative, your responsibilities will include:

• Accurately weighing out and preparing ingredients for mixing
• Mixing, dividing and shaping dough prior to proving
• Setting temperatures and cooking times for different products
• Baking various types of bread and other bakery products in large batches
• Using modern machinery and technology throughout the process
• Part-baking and freezing produce
• Wrapping, slicing, and packaging bread products
• Decorating, slicing and wrapping finished products
• Cleaning machinery and work station

We are looking for a Bakery Operative who has the following skills and experience:

• Experience working in a food environment is welcome (chilled environment), but not essential. Appropriate training will be conducted.
• Candidate must be flexible and hard-working, prepared to carry out manual handling.
• Good attention to detail is required.
• Willing and able to work in a cold and busy environment.
• Able to work under pressure.
