Job Context:

This design role is focused on Spanish brands Men’s and Women’s Knitwear, working with our center of excellence UK design team, and marketing, to create on point, commercial and on trend garments that fulfill Spanish brand needs in conjunction with new innovative ideas and new technologies within Q Collection, working to customer specifications and internal sales and design strategies.

Job Responsibilities:

Within this role you will also be communicating directly with customers so good communication and presentation skills are key.

Have a creative eye for new stitch techniques, yarn and Silhouette.

• Capability to create clear detailed tech packs and specs for factory to create samples and swatches
• Provide detailed measurement specs
• Sample swatch approvals

Through competitive reports and a clear market analysis, you will look for opportunities and white space gaps to enable new business opportunities and account growth.

• Provide Knitwear Product Market reports
• Outline new product opportunities

You will liaise with customer buyers and designers daily to build relationships, and to action their specific requests, ensuring that samples and cads are right first time, with keen attention to detail.

• Strong communication skills are required as regular product meetings with customers will be required.

Attend marketing events, trend fairs, fashion and fabric exhibitions/conferences etc. to understand upcoming fashion, colour, fabric trends; Create reports and insights based on the visits.

Aligning these reports to white space gaps for our current and future customers.

• Create Spanish Brand Knitwear seasonal trends aligned to the market.
• Create Spanish market intel reports

This role is required to be based in Spain with regular travel to UK and BD when required.

In the future for this role we would like to relocate to the UK. This would then require travel between Spain and UK.

Educational Qualifications:

BA Honor's Degree in related fields like Fashion & Apparel.

Professional Experience:

• 2 years+ experience in product area design across knitwear, with exposure to UK/European/US markets and customers
• Actively be able to seek out opportunity’s for your specific customer
• Worked with buyers previously to design into cost parameters.
• Knowledge of forthcoming trends and in season/out of season products and be able to apply them to commercial design – to grow the business.
• Worked with off-shore factory’s and hub offices to ensure that first samples are visually and technically correct.
• Actively able to seek to business opportunities through a keen insightful knowledge of customers.

Additional Requirements:

• Excel, Illustrator, Photoshop, Word, PowerPoint, 3D CLO (optional).
• Ability to demonstrate the attention of detail and work to tight deadlines.
• Enthusiastic team player and able to interact at all levels internally and externally.
• Ability to take ownership and resolve issues with proven problem solving skills.
• Ability to multitask in a constantly changing environment.
