Job Description: We are seeking an enthusiastic, adaptable, and reliable General Cover Teacher to join our team in a secondary school in Leicester on an ad-hoc basis. As a cover teacher, you will be responsible for delivering pre-planned lessons and ensuring that students remain engaged and on-task during the absence of their regular class teacher.

Key Responsibilities: - Cover lessons: Deliver pre-planned lessons across a variety of subjects, ensuring that students are engaged and completing work set by the class teacher.
- Classroom management: Maintain a positive, productive classroom environment and manage student behavior effectively.
- Student support: Provide support to students where necessary, including assisting with learning tasks and addressing individual needs.
- Monitoring progress: Ensure that students are completing tasks as directed and report any issues or concerns to the appropriate department or head of year.
- Administering coursework: Supervise tests, assignments, and exams where needed.
- Flexible work schedule: Be available on short notice for ad-hoc assignments, often requiring flexibility to cover a range of subjects and age groups.
Requirements: - Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent is desirable, but not essential.
- Previous experience in a secondary school setting is preferred.
- Ability to teach across various subjects, including English, Maths, Science, and Humanities.
- Strong classroom management skills and the ability to keep students focused and engaged.
- Excellent communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- A flexible and positive attitude towards teaching in a variety of settings.
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to apply for one).
Desirable Skills: - Experience of working with students aged 11-16.
- Specialisms in specific subjects are a bonus, but not required.
- Ability to adapt to different teaching methods and resources.
