We are looking for a committed and empathetic Learning Support Assistant to join a specialised school in Leicester, providing essential support to students with complex needs, including Autism, physical disabilities, and multiple learning difficulties. This role plays a vital part in creating an inclusive environment where students can succeed academically and personally.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver tailored support to promote students' academic, social, and emotional growth.
- Assist with daily activities, ensuring a secure and supportive environment for all learners.
- Work collaboratively with teachers and support staff to implement Individualised Education Plans (IEPs).
- Manage challenging behaviours using positive reinforcement strategies.
- Support students' independence and self-confidence through structured skill-building activities.
Candidate Requirements
- Experience supporting individuals with special educational needs, ideally in an educational setting.
- A strong passion for helping young people reach their full potential.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to engage with students, staff, and families effectively.
- A proactive and adaptable attitude to meet diverse student needs.
- Up-to-date safeguarding training is highly advantageous.
Eligibility Requirements
- The right to work in the UK.
- An enhanced child DBS certificate registered on the online update service or willingness to apply for one.
- Two professional references covering the past two years.
