Manufacturing Plant Electrical Engineer (Continental Shift )

Role Overview

As an Electrical Engineer working a continental shift pattern (2 x 12-hour days, 2 x 12-hour nights, followed by 4 days off), you will play a critical role in maintaining and improving production line efficiency. This position offers a dynamic work environment with the opportunity to make a real impact.

Key Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair production machinery, including PLCs, Variable Frequency Drives, HMIs, relay logic, and instrumentation.
• Perform Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) to reduce downtime and maintain reliability.
• Lead continuous improvement projects to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
• Implement and document machine modifications, including electrical panel work and PLC programming.
• Train apprentices and support production teams using your technical expertise.
• Ensure adherence to health and safety policies, adopting safe work practices and using appropriate PPE.
• Complete accurate documentation, inspections, and reports, flagging major faults to management.

Skills & Experience Required

• Electrical Apprenticeship or equivalent qualification.
• Strong knowledge of the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989.
• PLC and Variable Speed AC Drive experience is advantageous but not essential.
• Experience in high-speed manufacturing environments and electrical installations.
