Warehouse Manager - Permanent
Salary - Up to £38k
Location - Leicester
Hours - Mon - Fri 7:30am - 4:30pm
The Recruitment Group is working with a family run flooring business supplying primarily commercial flooring goods and tools across the UK.
Purpose of the Warehouse Manager role:
Our client is looking for a Warehouse Manager as they are soon to be relocating to a much larger warehouse locally and are looking for an experienced warehouse manager seeking a new challenge to work alongside our client to manage and improve the warehousing side of the business.
The purpose of the role is to oversee warehouse operations and ensure efficient handling of goods. The ideal candidate will have experience in shipping, receiving, and warehouse management. This role requires strong leadership skills to supervise the warehouse team effectively.
Main duties and responsibilities of a Warehouse Manager:
- Ensure all sales orders are dispatched as quickly as possible while collections are ready for customers before arrival.
- Stock control to ensure they are sufficiently stocked at present and forecasting for future. This involves placing stock orders with suppliers and using forecasting features within the systems.
- Ensure stock levels are correct at all times with regular stock takes and investigating any discrepancies.
- Ensure all returns are processed in a timely manner.
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance warehouse efficiency.
- Oversee warehouse team and delegate jobs accordingly.
- Where required assist with day-to-day operations - Taking in deliveries, pick/packing, operating trade counter.
- Mange waste management and ensure the warehouse is tidy/organised.
- Liaise with couriers for collections and discrepancies.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within the warehouse.
Experience/knowledge requirements for a Warehouse Manager:
- Proven experience in warehouse management, with a solid understanding of supply chain processes.
- Experience in a flooring/trade/distribution background - desired.
- Familiarity with Orderwise software and/or other warehouse management systems.
- Strong supervisory skills to lead and motivate a team effectively.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks efficiently.
- Knowledge of transportation management systems and their integration with warehouse operations.
