GSL Education is working with a well-respected secondary school in Leicester to find a motivated History Teacher who can bring the past to life for students and foster a deep understanding of historical events and their significance.

About the Role:

As a History Teacher, you will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging lessons that cover a wide range of historical periods and themes to students aged 11-16. Your lessons will encourage critical thinking, discussion, and analysis, helping students develop a strong understanding of historical contexts and their relevance to the present day. You will also assess student progress, provide meaningful feedback, and collaborate with colleagues to enrich the school s history curriculum.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver dynamic and interactive lessons in history, aligned with the national curriculum.
• Inspire students to explore and analyse historical events, figures, and movements.
• Assess and track student progress, offering constructive feedback to support their academic growth.
• Work closely with the History department to enhance curriculum offerings and teaching strategies.
• Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student engagement and critical thinking.

Requirements:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a degree in History or a related field.
• Experience teaching History at the secondary level is highly desirable.
• Strong classroom management skills and the ability to engage and motivate students.
• A commitment to professional development and staying updated on educational best practices.
